Smart XPStation is a hardware and software thin client kit which enables two to five users to share the computing power and resources of a single computer.

Smart XPStation is a kit bundled with SMART software which enables two to five users to share the computing power and resources of a single computer (Host PC). All users can simultaneously perform any tasks that they would perform on a standard Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional or Home Edition. With XPStation , additional users are supported by adding PCI video cards and monitors along with PS/2 keyboards & mice, XPStation , USB & Video combo cable, USB sound. XPStation enables two users (up to a maximum of five users) to work simultaneously on the same or different software applications, share a printer, CD-ROM drive, and even surf the Internet independently with one phone line, one ISP account and one modem. This saves tremendous costs!

How does SMART software work?

Today's PCs are extremely powerful. Even while you're working on your PC, a significant portion of the PC's processing power goes unused. With our latest developed SMART software, two to five users* can share the computing power and resources of the Host PC at the same time.

Smart Hardware Recommendations

Recommended System Requirements on Host PC

·         Pentium® III 450MHz or faster

·         Microsoft Windows® 2000 Professional / Server or Microsoft Windows® XP Home / Professional Edition

·         192MB minimum for 2 users (64MB per additional user)

·         USB Ports

·         Available PCI slots

Graphic Cards

The following graphic cards* are recommended for use in Buddy Stations:

ATI Radeon - all models
NVIDIA GeForce 2 - all models
NVIDIA GeForce 4 - all models
NVIDIA TNT2 - all models
SiS 6326 (single station only)

In addition, you can use a GeForce 2, GeForce 4, ATI Radeon or SiS 650 Dual-head AGP card to support both the host and a Smart station (Windows XP® required). There are restrictions when using the Dual-head VGA cards.

*: Not applicable if the Smart PCI VGA card is included in the Smart XPStation kit from ACTPLT.
